Tarvo Valker
Tarvo is from Haapsalu in Northwest Estonia and has been interested in wildlife since he was a young boy. He started birding at the age of eight and has been an avid birder ever since. Although birding has remained his big passion, it is closely followed by his enthusiasm looking for the elusive Eurasian Lynx.
After working six years in the State Nature Conservation Centre as a monitoring specialist, Tarvo began his freelance career and has been leading birding and mammal watching tours in Estonia for 20 years. Beside guiding, Tarvo participates in field surveys and is the author of six birding books. He also enjoys nature education, especially encouraging young people to connect with wildlife.
Tarvo has been also long term Council member of Birdlife Estonia and served as a member of the Estonian Bird Rarities Committee from 2011-2022.
Tarvo is very friendly, speaks good English and is great company on a wildlife tour.
