Laurentino Garcio Cayón

Laurentino was born and raised in the heart of the Natural Park of Montaña Palentina. From a very young age, he accompainied his father and his shepherd grandfather on countless mountain excursions in search of the most elusive species: the wolf, the brown bear and capercailie. This allowed him to observe and predict, firsthand, the behavior of these animals in the wild. For over 30 years, he has worked as an ecoturism guide, leading groups of ecoturists from various countries, including Swiss, German, French and especially British. This has made him one of the most renowned naturalists in the Palencia Mountains, and leading authority on topics such as botany and the wolf. His company was the first in Spain to focus on observing the Iberian wolf in wild, always respecting the specie´s behavior and never interfering with its natural conduct.
